About the Library

The library specializes in materials on the modern Middle East. Its extensive collections of journals, articles, economic material, bibliographies and other reference material, to name but a few, are of great value to students and researchers alike.

The articles are indexed in a sophisticated database and searchable by keywords, author, titles and various other parameters. Currently, there are over 250,000 items in the database

 

In addition, the library houses a fine collection of the Archive Editions (reprints of British Government documents). In the economic section, a broad selection of statistical material from and about the countries of the Middle East is at hand

 

 

The library puts special emphasis on digital materials: databases, such as the US goverment's World News Connection (WNC) and British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) monitoring services are in extensive use. On-line electronic materials, such as daily newspapers, are disseminated by the library staff to the faculty.
 

The Library Updates and the Current Contents are disseminated free of charge. They constitute an important element for students and researchers alike to keep posted on new publications in this dynamic field of research. To subscribe, please e-mail us at the address below:

The library is part of "ALEPH," the Israeli academic library computer system, providing access to all academic catalogs and databases. Every two months, an "Electronic Current Contents of Articles" keeps readers up-to-date

.on the latest articles on the Middle East 

 

The library also publishes bi-weekly library Updates,on the Middle East which are essentially links to the full-text of reports, policy papers and briefings published by think tanks, institutes, and research centers the world over, on subjects related to

.the modern Middle East, North Africa and Islam

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 8:30 - 18:30
